The Goodsyard Shortlisted for RICS Awards 2024

GNA are delighted to announce that The Goodsyard, has been shortlisted for the RICS Awards, for Residential Development of the Year

The Goodsyard is a transformational mixed-use development in the Jewellery Quarter, of Birmingham City Centre. The scheme consists of 395 residential apartments, commercial offices and active retail space complimented by landscaped public and communal residential courtyard spaces.

GNA designed the project to respond to the two historic grade 2* listed cemeteries of Key Hill and Warstone that flank the site alongside its setting within the Jewellery Quarter Conservation Area. The scheme repairs each respective frontage and re-provides a defined edge to these mature open spaces, providing opportunity to reinterpret these spaces as originally envisaged, elegant, landscaped parks.

Our design reimagines the site’s original industrial heritage; to re-establish the lost goods warehouse scale, massing and architecture lost during WW2 bombing, which formed a critical part of understanding the Jewellery Quarter’s urban grain and function. By reinterpreting this architecture for living, working and leisure and providing access to the expansive rail and metro transport links, this site unlocks a new gateway to this historic area for this new community and the wider city population.

We are looking forward to the RICS Awards ceremony in October 2024.
