The Essington Receives Planning Go Ahead

Planning approval has been granted for The Essington at 90-97 Broad Street in collaboration with Regal Property Group, a next-generation high-rise project in Birmingham. The 47-storey tower is set to redefine city living, offering some of the most sought-after homes in the heart of Birmingham.

Situated along Broad Street, The Essington will stand tall as a pinnacle development within an emerging cluster of towers. With its distinctive 'H' shaped floor plan, this residential building will create a vertical community, providing residents with access to stunning city views and a unique living experience.

Designed with both comfort and sustainability in mind, The Essington features a host of active lifestyle spaces, including breakout lounges, a gym, cinema, bookable dining rooms and communal winter garden for all-weather enjoyment. Plus, with secure cycle storage and electric bike charging points, we're encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Designed to physically open out onto the street below, the concept for this building started with place-making within the urban realm, with thoughts around lively amenity space spilling out onto an urban pocket park adjacent to the metro stop. This pocket park is a key part of the 90-97 experience offering pause to Broad Street's bustle, much needed habitat and sustainable drainage opportunities and forging the key access point for a new connection from Broad Street into Ladywood.

The project incorporates intelligent engineering and renewable energy solutions to minimise carbon emissions and maximise energy efficiency. With insulation levels exceeding regulations and a focus on natural daylighting, we're creating homes that prioritise both sustainability and resident well-being.

GNA looks forward to embarking on the next steps of bringing The Essington to life, with preconstruction slated to commence in Q3/Q4 2024.
