In order to prepare for the Defeat the Peak challenge, the team took part in a series of group training walks to ensure they were ready to tackle the distance and challenges that lay ahead.
GNA Defeat the Peak for Macmillan
Last weekend a team from GNA braved the UK’s tallest mountain, Ben Nevis. Trekking through the night in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support they raised a current total of £5,570!
The team set about fundraising, with the ultimate goal of £4000. After over 130 generous donations, the team have surpassed their goal, reaching a current total of £5,572!
Despite difficult weather conditions, and navigating the mountain in the dark, our whole team made it to the summit and back, a little sore but mostly unscathed! The challenging track is around 16km in total, and consists of tricky rugged and rocky terrain.
After a disappointing wet and cold pit stop at the summit, the team were rewarded with some beautiful views on their way back down.
We are grateful to be able to make such a contribution to MacMillan to support their incredible work. It is estimated that every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer. Therefore, the work Macmillan do to provide care for those at the toughest of times is crucial. They deliver vital support to family and loved ones of someone living with cancer. We would like to thank all of our clients, friends and family who have sponsored our challenge, and donated to this amazing cause.
If you would like to support our challenge, we would be grateful for any futher donations here.
