Glancy Nicholls Architects are pleased to announce that our scheme as part of the expansion for Joseph Chamberlain College in Birmingham has received full planning approval this week.
Promotion of active learning spaces are catered for with a new sports pitch and vibrant student amenity facility.
The scheme provides a variety of classrooms and learning spaces, including ICT, a digital lounge and conference room. There will also be staff offices, meeting rooms and a centrally located break-out lounge creating a social hub for students.
A feature roof light over a triple-height lounge allows natural daylight to infiltrate into the centre of the building. In addition a centrally located courtyard provides essential outdoor amenity space, whilst the glazed facades surrounding the courtyard allow light to flood into the adjacent teaching spaces.
