A partial refurbishment of the 6th floor of an existing 1960’s office building, resulting in a contemporary office which is adaptable to meet users needs.
The existing cellular office spaces have been removed to produce an open plan office, providing a flexible space that can easily accommodate change. The restricted floor to ceiling height has been maximised by hiding services under the raised access floor and bringing the ceiling tight to the underside of the soffit.
The white surfaces reflect light around, maximising the natural daylight from the large areas of glazing and producing a bright and airy interior, which increases the perceived ceiling height. The suspended lighting rafts also provide acoustic baffling, minimising noise transfer that is so often associated with open plan spaces.
