The Learning Centre is one of the largest campus wide facilities designed to provide flexible learning spaces and open access computer facilities for general student use, and occupies the lower two floors of the existing building.

The scheme includes a mixture of formal and informal teaching, as well as learning areas with flexible open access to computer facilities. These provide students with a variety of adaptable learning spaces. The design creates a contemporary and progressive learning environment that supports multiple facilities across the University, and makes the facility more user-friendly as a resource for all departments and students.

In addition to the internal works, the opportunity was taken to both extend the existing coffee shop and link with the Learning Centre, as well as improve the piazza to the front of the building, to encourage pedestrian movement through this main space.
