This 50 bed extra care scheme in Yarnton, Oxfordshire is a three-storey building, consisting of 12 one-bed apartments and 38 two-bed apartments.

Residing on a one acre site, the building was developed with Housing & Care 21 and Willmott Dixon Housing. The project duration was 18 months and was successfully completed within budget in September 2013.

The development was part of a larger housing estate built two years prior and completes the masterplan for the site. Shared communal facilities within the development such as the shop, salon and restaurant provide a vibrant hub for the wider community and visitors to enjoy.

Architectural details on the building reflect the local vernacular architecture, including natural stone, clay and slate roof finishes, mixed roof heights and traditional dormer windows. These features of the building were a key element of the scheme and were subject to strict planning conditions.
