The development of eight dwellings and a visitor centre forms the first phase of a major mixed use development in Coed Darcy, South Wales, for which Glancy Nicholls Architects were appointed as Executive Architects.
The design of the dwellings carefully reflects a simple, harmonious Welsh vernacular. A key principle of Coed Darcy is to create an attractive, cohesive and well balanced community with a strong sense of identity and distinctiveness. This development focusses on the environment and the stunning local surroundings that are on its doorstep.
Sustainable living is encouraged through comprehensive and holistic design. The 8 dwellings and visitor centre provide an exemplar form of development, reflecting the principles set out by the wider Coed Darcy Development. It demonstrates a high level of sustainable materials and renewable technologies.
