Glancy Nicholls Architects (projects) are pleased to be associated with the successful completion on Venture Fields, now formally known as The Hive Leisure Park. The £10 million scheme has been developed by St. Modwen Developments Ltd, in partnership with Halton Borough Council and is an exciting new entertainment complex located in Widnes Waterfront. The Hive includes a multiplex 5 screen Reel Cinema, Widnes Super bowl, a 16 lane ten pin bowling centre with “crazy club” kids soft play area, an Ice Rink operated by Planet Ice, a Frankie and Benny’s bar and restaurant and a Nandos restaurant. Situated to the south of Widnes Town centre The Hive occupies a prominent position at the gateway to Widnes Economic Development Zone where circa £70 million will be invested over the next 10 years. To celebrate the development, local children from Simms Cross Primary School were invite to supply the contents for a “time capsule” which was buried beneath the paving at an official ceremony attended by Local Councilors’ and the children themselves.
