Glancy Nicholls Architects have won their 4th commission for the University of Birmingham, a feasibility study for the refurbishment and re-modelling of the Learning and Resource Centre.
This project includes the redesign of the central atrium incorporating a dedicated reception, improving the legibility, circulation and acoustics of the lower 2 storeys. The feasibility study will also investigate improved layouts for lecture spaces, computer clusters, and greater flexible learning and resource areas, along with improvements to the building environment and external landscaping. This project follows other recent commissions for the University, these being; The Elms Nursery, The Medical School Foyer and Barnes Library, and refurbishment feasibility study for Staff House including The Bratby Bar.
